Christmas Eve Eve

We started our Christmas celebration on the 23rd with the annual D family Christmas Eve Eve.  Darrel and Holly are always so generous to open their home to the craziness that so many people (and little kids!) bring.  We ate a yummy meal, visited, the kiddos played, and we ended with a program where people shared memories, read poems, sang sons and performed Christmas songs on various musical instruments.

The three babies in their matching outfits (yes, Elliot is a baby.  The fact that he looks monstrous in comparison to his cousins in the pictures is just an illusion created by the camera and has nothing to do with the fact that my baby is turning into a toddler)
This looks like it's just begging to be one of those pictures that we recreate in twenty years making them all sit in this green chair with little hero shirts.
Abby and Cousin Annabelle reading a Christmas poem.
The poem was about wanting a dinosaur for Christmas, but when Santa (Carson) delivers the dinosaur (Mason) on Christmas Eve the girls run away screaming.  All the kids had fun performing it and it was fun to watch.

Every time E is around babies that crawl, he reverts back to crawling to get around also.
Elliot spent a large chunk of the Christmas program trying to get up to the piano.  Finally, we just let him play a "song" and everyone clapped for him and after that he stopped trying to climb up on the bench.  I guess he just wanted a turn to perform.

We love having three days of Christmas and I am so happy that we continue to get together with my extended family every year.
