New Years Eve

We rang in 2014 with our traditional get together with the C. family, lots of good food, Dance Central, games, and fun.
We did a count down with the kids at 9:00.  We have recently got rid of all our cable channels except for the basic ones and so we didn't have any channels showing New Years live in New York.  We pulled up a video of last years on the computer and hooked it up to the TV.  It worked until Carson said, "Wait!  Why does it say 2013?!"   He's getting too smart, that one.
After the kid count down, we put on movies for the older kids and the babies slept (Mason made it until about 10:00 and then went down also).  The past couple years it seems us adults haven't been able to play many games because there is always a baby or toddler who is having a hard time or not sleeping.  This year, however, we didn't hear a peep from the kids and were able to play several board games before midnight which was a lot of fun.
As I looked through my pictures, I realized I don't have any of Mike and I!  So, here is our New Years, represented by our kids.

Elliot and Kaylee playing the piano.

Carson and Alicia playing the dance game on the Kinnect.
                            Elliot rocking out.
The kids thought watching their parents was pretty entertaining.
Abby and Brookey giving it a go.
The sensor for the game has a really hard time picking up Mason because he's too short, but he rocked it out anyways oblivious to the fact that he wasn't actually playing.
The kids.
The kids and the babies.  It's hard to smile when Elliot is screaming his head off right in the middle...

As always it was a fun night.  The next day, I took Carson and Abby to "run" a 5K while Mike stayed home with the little boys.  Abby walked half of it with me and was done, but Carson finished the whole thing (he stopped and walked a couple of times) in a little over forty minutes.  I was really proud of him for completing it.  He said, "Now that's a good way to start a New Year!"
