Kiwi's Birthday
I misplaced the cable for to connect my camera to the computer for a couple of weeks, which not only put me behind on the blog, but also out of the habit, but the cable is found and now it's time for catch up.
For dinner, she choose tacos and we invited both sets of grandparents and all of the aunts, uncles, and cousins in the area to come join us for dinner, cake, and ice cream. Her love of Jessie is still going strong, so we had another Toy Story theme. I tried to do a butter cream frosting transfer to make Jessie's face and it did not go well (most of what you see ended up being free handed, because the transfer was a smeary mess). In fact, nothing about that cake seemed to go right.
But everything about this little cowgirl is more than right, so it was a good day. She insisted on wearing her Jessie shirt, cowgirl hat and boots, and the jeans with "chaps" that I made her for Halloween last year.
Our little girl turned four last month.
Although it looks like she is holding up five fingers, it's only four. Good thing. I am hoping by the time she turns five I will have figured out a way to slow down how fast these kids of mine are growing up.
I told her she could have anything she wanted for breakfast. Anything she named, I would have made. She chose a donut with sprinkles and orange juice. I'm not sure what that says about my cooking...

Opening up Silverlicous. She loves all of the books by this author. She can recite most of Pinkalicious by memory.
Her big present from Mike and I was a pink razor scooter. She has been asking for a two wheeled scooter for a long time, because she wants to keep up with her big brother. We didn't think she was quite ready for it yet, but we figured she would grow into it, but she has really impressed us. She scoots herself down the road with a determined look on her face and really does a good job. You have to factor in Kiwi scooter time though. Take how long it would normally take you to walk somewhere and multiply that by about four. Slow and steady is how she rolls with her pink wheels.
We feel so blessed to have this little girl in our lives. She adds so much joy and laughter into our home. She still has the same strong will she was born with. The tantrums and fits seem to slowing down the last couple of months (I'm afraid to even type that) which is nice. When she sets her mind to something, it is set. Although this can be frustrating at times as her parents, I am hoping that this determination will be a strength for her in life (as long as she sets her mind on the right things).
