One month
Our little Mason is already one month (actually one month and one week today). I can't believe it's already been five weeks since he came, but at the same time we are starting to enter the stage where you can't remember what life was like before he came.
So far our little guy has been the easiest of our three babies (knock on wood!) He is usually pretty mellow only crying when he is hungry, needs to be burped, or has a tummy ache which is usually solved by a often explosive diaper.
He sleeps well at night, usually only waking up 1-2 times to eat and going right back to sleep. Sleeping during the day at home is unpredictable. Sometimes he'll take several long naps and other times he will only cat nap or will only sleep when being held. Although this can make getting things done during the day challenging, I will take it for the good stretches he usually gives me at night.
The only sure way to get him to take a nap during the day is to go somewhere. Put the kid in the car and start pushing him in the stroller and he's out. He usually continues to sleep when we get to our destination also. Pretty much everywhere we have taken him, he's been snoozing in his car seat the whole time.
My favorite thing about Mason so far is how snuggly and sweet he is. No matter what time, day or night, he will almost always snuggle up with a willing set of arms.
Sometimes, if we are lucky and the kids have a good quiet time in the afternoon or on the weekends when Mike's home, Mason and I will sneak in a little nap. Having his little body snuggle into mine, breathing in that sweet baby scent, is currently one of my favorite things in the world.
His fussy periods are mild compared to what his siblings (especially Kiwi's) were and he can usually be calmed by just being rocked or gently bounced with a binky in (with Kiwi we were swaddling, bouncing, shushing, swinging, walking, etc. for hours every night at this point).
Little Man and Kiwi are both smitten with our newest addition.
Kiwi initially had a rough time with him even asking "Why did we need a new baby in our bamily?" She has since decided, however, that he is the best thing. She loves getting him diapers, retrieving burp clothes, kissing him, patting him, and kissing him some more. We have to remind her to be gentle multiple times a day but I love watching her love him. She now says, "We did need a baby in our bamily" and likes to talk about how he was waiting in heaven to "jump" into my tummy and be part of our family.
Little Man also loves his brother and is a big help. He likes to hold him all by himself (we have to remind him not to pick him up on his own) and also loves to choose his diapers (this is sometimes a fight between the two big ones) and outfits. One Mason's one month birthday, Little Man got Kiwi to help him and they put up some decorations for the occasion.
Overall, he is just a sweet, sweet baby and we feel so blessed to have him in our home.
He is so cute! I think you should put up a pictures of all three of your kids at one month so I can see who he looks like.
